Camellia Garden Meets With Mrs. Thressa Harris The Carmellia Garden Club held its meeting Monday eve ning July 11, at the home of Mrs. Thressa Harris, 904 Mas sey Avenue. The devotion pe riod was led by Mrs. Gertrude Brenson and Mrs. Roberta Ed mundson. Mrs. Endell Stewart presided over the business session. Plans were completed for attending the convention to be held at the Jack Tar Ho tel in August. Mrs. Eunice Mitchell assisted the hostess with serving re freshments then the member* were invited outside to see Mrs. Harris' lovely array of flowers in bloom. The wedding vows were said beneath a sunny sky on the lawn at the residence of the parents of the bride, Dr. Artis P. Graves, professor and chair man of the Department of Biology, and Mrs. Graves, in structor in education and psy chology, both of the A. and T. College faculty. Rev. Arthur Davis, Jr., of Fayetteville, pastor of the Unit ed Holiness Church and father of the groom, officiated at the ceremonies. The bride, a graduate of Spel man College, holds the master's degree in social work from the Atlanta University School of Social Work. The bridegroom is a graduate of Morehouse College and is pursuing graduate study in public administration at Car negie lastitute of Technology, at Pittsburgh, Pa. / The bride had as her fnaid of honor, her sister, Miss Lynn Delores Graves, and a second sister. Miss Anita Graves, served as attendant. DAVIS Final Rites Held July 7 For Mrs. R. Davis Mrs. Rosa G. Davis, 68, who died suddenly here July 3, was funeraliied at the Mount Vernon Baptist Church Thurs., Jul. 7 at 11 a.m. with the pas tor, the Rev. E. T. Browne delivering the eulogy. Bom in Burgess, S. C. De cember 17, 1897, Mrs. Davis was married to William Davis September 20, 1919. This cou ple has operated the Davis Grocery Market on South Rox boro Street for many years. During her 42-year member ship in the Mount Vernon Bap tist Church, she was a loyal and devoted member of the church. Mrs. Davis was a mem ber of the Deaconess Board, Teacher of the Faithful Re deemed Bible Class for 30 years and a member of the Senior Choir Number One and Zone Number Five. Survivors include her hus band, William Davis; four sis ters, Mrs. Isodora Howard of Columbus, Ga., Mrs. Sadie Jackson of Brooklyn, N. Y., Mrs. BeTfrette Townsend of Greensboro and Mrs. Emma Pino of Wilmington: several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. July 7 at 7 o.m. at the Lewis Funeral Home. Burial followed Friday morning. July 8 in a local ceme tery. Husband. 62. was born in Durham but resided in Phila delphia for the last 40 years He died Saturday night, July 2 at 6:30 p.m. Besides his brother, a niece.
