Renee was the recipient of many lovely gifts. Rev. L. O. Saunders Closes Year of Duty at Emmanuel Rev. L. O. Saunders is clos ing a year of service at Em manuel AME Church on Kent Street, Sunday, November 13. He was born in Onslow Coun ty and attended Richland grad ed schools and Georgetown High School in Jacksonville. Rev. Saunders received his Bachelor of Theology Degree from Kittrell College, Kittrel! and did further study at Urbari Training Center for Christian Mission, Chicago. Illinois. He also took a course in steward ship in Memphis, Tenn. Rev. Saunders is the forme! pastor of Warrenton, Spring Hope and Watman Circuit in Enfield and Mt. Olive AME Church in Wilmington. _He comes from a family of twen ty-seven ministers. He is married to Mrs. Lena Saunders of Kinston and the father of five children. Rev. F. D. MISSION MEETING HELD The Sylvia Williams Mission ary Circle met at the home of Mrs. Jennie Fuller, 1208 Fay etteville Street Sunday after noon, November 6, at 4:00 o'clock. After the devotions, a brief business session was held. The following persons were elect ed to serve as officers for the coming year: Mesdames Susie Alston, leader: Hattie Boykins, assistant leader; Jenester Jack son, secretary and Zora Walk er, treasurer. The report of the missionary activities and the toll call were heard. The Lesson from the Secret Place was discussed by Mrs. Boykins. EBENEZER FLORAL CLUB HOLDS MEETING The Floral Club of Ebenezer Baptist Church met at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Percy Jones at 2923 Sprucewood Sun day, November 6, at 4:00 p.m., opening with the club song "Let The Beauty of Jesus Be Seen in Me." Mr. Jones led the devotions. With Mrs. Addie Barbee pre siding, an evaluatk>n of the last annual Birthnite supper was made by each club mem ber present. Those present were: Mes- Alumni Association contest. She is shown above returning the award to Eugene A. Eaves, vice-president of the alumni as the University of Illinois. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Harris.
