Plans for the day long e vent were-announced today by Geneta\ ArtYiut L. Becker. The and laboratory will be for public tours from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. "The Open House is pne of the few opportunities we have to show our company to the community," Mr. Becker said. "I hope every one will take the opportuni ty' 'to visit us during the day." Announcement of the Open House falls almost two years to the day from the announcement that IBM would build a center for the manufacture and develop ment of data communication products in North Carolina. The 605,000 square-foot complex was finished in January and contains the latest developments in data communications. Dis plays in the laboratory will feature some of the ad vanced communication tech niques developed by local scientists and engineers, while manufacturing dis plays will concentrate on the company's current line of products built for use with System/360 computers. Tours guides will be available to answer ques tions. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No pets are allowed in the buildings. The Open House will fol low a Thursday dedication in which Governor Dan K. Moore, former Governor Luther H. Hodges, and Thomas J.
