Finals Rites

ginia Union University will
hold its Sixty-Seventh Com
mencement activities June 3
through June 5. Some 5,000
alumni, parents of graduating
seniors and friends will visit
the, campus for the rites.
Approximately 220 seniors
are expected to graduate.
However, the final list will
not hi' released until the mid
dle of the week. The break
down follows: 72 for the B.S*
degree, 140 for the B.A. de
degree and 8 for the B.D de
gree This will be one of the
largest graduating classes in
in fifteen years.
The Baccalaureate Service
will be held in Barco-Stevens
Hall Sunday, June 4 at 4:00
p.m. (E.D.T.). Dr. John M
Ellison. Chancellor of the
University will preach. Dr
Ellison is a native of North
umbcrland County, Virginia
where he received his early
education He matriculated in
the-Normal and Industrial In
stitute (now Virginia State
College) and earned the B.A .
M A., and Ph.D. degrees from
Virginia Union University
(1917), Oberlin Graduate
School of Theology in Ohio
(1927), tind Drew University
in New Jersey (1933), respec
tively.
