Hillsborough Happwiag* I By Sktrrf ShaiMlß "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" all over the Hillsborough community. Door decorations adorn various homes and lights string over windows and shrubbery. The only factor missing is snow, and who's looking for it. The annual Christmas play will be held on December 22 at 7:00 p.m. at Mt. Bright Baptist Church. The setting will be in Bethlehem a long while ago. The Junior Choir will ren der music for the program. The speech and drama class es at Orange High School spon sored a Christmas play entitled "Christmas Time in TV Land." Skits dealing with TV soap operas were acted out. A laugh in added much humor to the jovial audience. George Crabtree, student council social chairman, an nounced that the annual Christ mas party would be held in the lobby for 30 minutes. A combo will provide music while stu dents enjoy themselves. The Emma Borough Mission ary Circle will hold its annual Christmas party on December 26. The party will be held In the parsonage. A recognition service was held on Sunday for Rev. A. L. The Orange Panthers once again-romped to victory over the Northern Knights of Dur ham. The Panthers fought off the strong shooting of sopho more Gregg Jones to win the game 58-50. Calvin Wade, leading rebounder for Orange, played a strong game for the Panthers. Roosevelt Chavious, top scorer Eastern 3-A di vision, popped in 17 points for the night's high. Johnny Crump, a 6-2 junior, brought down the ball in a great night's effort. Cornelius Cathcart, a Durham Morning Herald all conference winner, has been presented a number of awards for his fan tastic performance during foot ball season. Catchcart and Jim my Taylor were chosen co captains for the 1969-70 sea son. Catchcart also received "The Stangle Award" as best defensive player for the sea son. . . The last meeting was held at the home of Mrs. Nina Amey, 2116 Charles Street. The meeting was presided over by the president, Wortham Pratt. The business session was brief afterwhich Christmas gifts were exchanged. The meeting was closed with prayer by Deacon Thomas Moore. Mrs. Amey, the hostess, in decorated dining room where vited everyone to a beautifully the table was laden with de licious food. AUTREY Durhamite Named Stewardess With Delta Air Lines Miss Patricia Anne Autry, of Roanoke, Ala. has "won her wings" and is now a stewardess with Delta Air Lines. Daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Autry, 912 Seymour Dr., Roanoke, she completed the four-week train ing course at Delta's Stewardess School at the Atlanta Airport and is now proudly wearing the chic uniform and cap of the na tion's fifth largest airline.
