Air Force duty assignment after completing basic training at Lackland AFB, Tex. The air man has been assigned to a unit of the Strategic Air Command at Castle AFB, Calif., for train ing and duty in the transporta tion field. Fearing of 1803 For est Road, Durham, have re turned to San Diego aboard the aircraft carrier USS Constella tion after a nine-month combat deployment in the Western Pa cific. * • • Second Lieutenant Michael W. Arnold, son of retired U. S. Air Force Major and Mrs. Wen dell H. Arnold' of 2625 Oberlin Drive, Durham, has been award ed USAF silver pilot wings upon graduation at Randolph AFB, Tex. Lieutenant Arnold is being assigned to Kelly AFB, Tex., for flying duty with the Mili tary Airlift Command which provides global airlift for U. S military forces. He is a C-131 Samaritan aeromedical evacua tion aircraft pilot. * * * Navy Petty Officer First Class Elbert R. Oakley, of 1401 E. Main St., Durham, is parti cipating in the joint amphibious and airborne "Exotic Dancer ni" exercise as a staff mem ber aboard the U. S. Second- Fleet Flagship, the light guid ed missile cruiser USS Spring field.
