Bass, Lessie Johnson, and Edna Satterfield all of Durham went to Richmond, Va. recently and were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Arrington of 1706 Montia Ave :; for the United Order of Tents. *** Miss Marietta Jones and Mrs. Nellie Samuels of Mt. Giluad Baptist Church, Dr. A. D. Mosley, pastor will attend the Green Lake Conference at Green Bay, Wisconsin July 14th-23rd. This is the Ameri can Baptist Convention Assem bly site and the most modern retreat for Baptist families who belong. Miss Jones will repre sent the Youth from Mt. The oldest person attending was Mrs. Edna Cosby and the oldest grand child attending was Mrs. Lucy F. Walker. 1200 BLOCK OF ROSE WOOD STREET CLUB The 1200 Block of Rose wood Street Club held its fifth annual picnic at Lake Butner Saturday July 22. After a reception at the Y.W.C.A., the couple left on their wedding trip to Durham. They will make their home in Durham. The bride is a graduate of North Carolina State Univer sity. She made her debut at the 1968 Sigma Gamma Rho Debutante Ball. Her husband is a graduate of N.C.S.U. where he was a member of the Alpha Phi Al pha Fraternity. Sorority Holds National Convention The National officers and local Chapters of Eta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., will hold their tenth bi-annual National convention in Kansas City, Missouri, at the Hotel Presi dent, July 28th through August sth. Mrs. Dorothea Walker, Na tional President of the business and professional women's or ganization, announced last week that the convention theme will be "Business and Professional Women in Multi ple Roles." Dr. Dorothy Williams, exe cutive in Ihe U. S. Depart ment of Housing and Urban Development, will deliver the keynote speech. Mrs. Virginia M. Phillips, national publicity director, said the members of the host chapter, Sigma, have prepared an informative and entertain- I ing program for the delegates. James Deßerry Host To Class Meeting James Deßerry was host to the Hillside High Class of '47 meeting held Sunday July 23 at the home of Mis. Bernice Carlyle Poole. Twenty-five members were present to finalize plans for the reunion celebration to be held August 25. It is reported that 63 financial members will be in attendance and appro ximately 25 more have pro mised to attend.
