Dr. Stokes Speaker Duke Dr. Olivia Pearl Stokes, prominent Black church leader and specialist in urban edu cation and community action training for the National Coun cil of Churches, will be guest lecturer during the first week of the Duke Divinity School's continuing education seminar here Oct. 6-20. Holder of a doctoral de gree in education from Colum bia University Teachers Col lege and Union Theological Seminary, Dr. Stokes has had wide experience the past 20 years in fields of teaching, human relations, and manage ment training. Her visit to Duke as a staff associate of the NCC's depart ment of educational develop ment is planned for Oct. 10 through 12. She will lecture and lead workshop discussions with ministers enrolled in the seminar, and will also meet with Divinity students in class room and other informal con ferences. Townes will be leading Y-FITNESS FIND ERS classes in the Durham area in the near future. Developed through the com bined resources of the YMCA and Rodale Press, Inc., Y-FIT NESS FINDERS is a commun ity-oriented exercise program in which families, neighbors and friends get together in their own neighborhoods for weekly Richey, director.
