A Durham native, Mrs.
McNeil was the daughter of the
late Henry and Eunice Law.
Surviving are her husband,
Rufus; two daughters, Mary
McNeill and Mrs. Corliss Y.
Gattis, both of Durham; an
adopted foster son, Elgin Wiley
of the home ; three
grandchildren; Shawn McNeill,
Tonya Gattis, Bobby Ray Gattis,
Jr.; son-inJaw, Bobby Gattis, of
Durham; three aunts; one uncle;
one nephew; one brother-in-law,
and three sisters-in-law.
Burial was in the Beechwood
Cemetery.

held Sunday, February 15 at the
Kussell Memorial C. M. E.
Church, officiated by the pastor,
Rev. L. H. Whelchel, Jr. McNeil

stepfather, Sandie Hursey; six
aunts, Mrs. Alecie Woody and
MrsV Irene Pate, both of
Durham, Mrs. Ruby Woodard, of
Jersey City, N. J., Mrs. Annie
Campbell and Mrs. Josie
McMillan, both of Laurinburg
and Mrs. Pearlie Ford, of Jersey
City; one uncle, Pleasant L. Pate
of Jersey City.

Abbeville, S. C. before coming
to Durham. She opened a beauty '
shop at her home, 2930
Cedar wood Dr. in 1963. She has
taught cosmetology - at Jordan
Sellers High School in
Burlington, N. C. She has also
taught cosmetology in the
Durham High Program.
Mrs. Addie C. Howard is the'
daughter of Mrs. Ha Hie Crosby
and the bte James Crosby of
Abbeville, S. C. She is married to
Edward L. Howard, who is the
Director of the Medical Lab
program at Durham College.
They have four children, Gail,
Victor, Crystal, and Angela..
