Clubs and Socials 1 t t mmk FIRST CALVARY USHERS HOLD PARTY ' Members of First Calvary Church Ushers Association held their Christinas party at the Downtowner Motor Inn on Satur day, December 17. The program participants were Mrs. Lena Edwards, Mrs. Eva M. Pratt, Mrs. Mary Mclver, Edgar Daye, Mrs. Ruth Singleton, Mrs. Mae W. Webb, Willie Hogan and John Smith, who was , "Santa Claus". THE FRIENDLY LADIES CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS The Friendly Ladies Club celebrated Christmas on the third and fourth of December. On the third, members met at the Downtowner dressed yi formal wear. Mrs. Agnes Hinton was in charge of the program. Dr. and Mrs. Eldee Brown were special guests and Mrs. Brown gave a talk and showed a film entitled "Christmas Around the World". Carols were sung and a deli cious dinner was served. ' On the fourth, the club met at the home of Mrs. Mattie Tillman with Mrs. Margie Bullock as co-hostess. Gathering around a large Christmas tree, members exchanged gifts and re vealed their secret pals for the past twelve months. Mrs. Eva Lyon and Mrs. Viola Thompson played Santa.
