DEDICATION OF FIRST LEDGE ROCK IS PLANNED
A week of Dedicatory Services will be observed at First
Ledge Rock Baptist Church on Redwood Road April 9-13.
Local and area ministers, choirs and congregation will be
responsible for nightly services beginning at 7 p.m.

assisted by Rev. Edward Bell; Tuesday, Rev. W.R. McNeal,
Greenfield and Mt. Vernon Baptist Churches, Creedmoor;
Wednesday, Rev. P.R. Jones, Rogers Grove Baptist, assisted
by Rev. Nealie Harvey; Thursday, Rev. Mack Timberlake,
Sr., Olive Grove, assisted by Rev. N.A. Trice; and Friday.

Rev. C. R. Stone, Pastor of the new church will climax
the, week-long celebration with the Easter morning sermon.

BLACK CAMPUS MINISTRY TO SPONSOR SPRING
REVIVAL
The Duke University Black Campus Ministry will spon
sor a Spring Revival April 2,3, and 4th. The theme of the
revival will be "The Passion of Christ and the Liberation
of the Spirit".
Among the speakers for the revival will be the Rever
end Ben Chavis, for the Wednesday night services at the
Duke Chapel, Rev. Donald Fozard, and the Mount Zion
Youth Choir, Monday ngiht 7-8:30 p.m. The Rev. Jerry
Saunders and the Voices of Peace Missionary Baptist
Choir.
Wednesday night services will be in tribute to the Rev.
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Rev. Ben Chavis will
speak and music will be provided by the Modern Black
Mass Choir of Duke University.
All citizens are cordially invited to share in the re
vival. CLASS OBSERVES 40TH ANNIVERSARY
The Kingdom Seekers Bible Class of Mount Vernon
Baptist Church observed its fortieth anniversary recently at
the Church with Dr. W.T. Biglow, his choirs, ushers and
congregation as special guests.
Other Bible classes and clubs of the city were in attend;
ance. Mrs. E.H. Fogle, teacher of the class, gave 'the wel
come. Mrs. Georgia Thompson presented the speaker.' M
Financial reports from captains and offering were taken.
Dr. Percy L. High, pastor of Mount Vernon, presented a
plaque from the class commemorating 37 years of
dedicated service, to Mrs. Thompson, president of the
class, Mrs. Ollie White, first vice president, presided over
the service.
REV. NANCY GRADY TO PREACH AT WHITE ROCK
The Rev. Nancy R. Grady, Associate Minister of Lake
view Baptist Church, Durham, will preach at White Rock
Baptist Church, Sunday, April 1, 6 p.m., in the last Series
of Women Preaching.
The Rev. Grady is a naitve of Columbus, Ohio, where
she attended Franklin University and Ohio State Univer
sity. She was a member of Maynard Avenue Baptist
Church where her father, the Rev. Robert L. Clark,
serves as pastor. At Maynard, she served on the Deaconess
Board and as President of the Young Adult Outreach
Group. In community service in Columbus, she was a
member of the League of Women Voters, President of Con
cerned Citizens, Liason for Lincoln County School Board,
and Recording Treasurer of the Child Guidance League. She
has lived and traveled in Europe and the Orient.
She is employed in the Technical Support Division 'of
Northern Telecom, Inc., Creedmoor; and serves in fhe
Durham community as a member of S.C.L.C. and the
Durham Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance.
The Rev. Grady is married to Ronald H. Grady, a
building contractor in Durham; and they are the patients
of two daughters, Victoria and Tandrea. ;1

BIBLE CLASSES TO CELEBRATE
The Turner Bible Class and the Nannie Jones Bfble Class
of Fisher Memorial United Holy Church will jointly cele
brate their anniversaries on Sunday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m?
Rev. W.M. Freeman, minister of Kyles Temple AME
Zion Church will be the speaker. His choir and congregation
will also participate. The public is invited to attend.
EBENEZER JUNIOR USHERS CELEBRATE
ANNIVERSARY
The Junior Ushers of Ebenezer Baptist Church cele
brated their Anniversary on Sunday,March 25, with Miss
Darlene Wall serving as Mistress of Ceremony.
Scripture was by Miss Kristi Smith; Miss Arlene Daye,
the prayer; Tracy McNeil welcomed the visiting minister
and his congregation and friends; and Miss Wanda Wyiiams
read the history and names of the group - ages seven to
seventeen. Miss Denice Williams introduced the speaker,
Rev. D. J. Squires, of the Zion Temple United Church of
Christ.
Over 100 church members and friends attended this
service and contributed $200 for the building fund and
other special church projects. Refreshments were served.
Advisors are Mrs. Alice Davis, Mrs. Geraldine Upchurch
and Miss Cynthia Williams.
On Tuesday, April 3 at 2 p.m., the Senior Mission will
meet at the home of Mrs. Marina Fisher, 1 1-G Sima Street.

Baptist Church, along with his choirs and congregation. The

MONTHLY MEETING HELD
The Floral Board of the Oak Grove Freewill Baptist
Church held its monthly meeting Sunday, March 25, at the
home of Mrs. Ezebell Green, 1610 Green Street.
Devotion was conducted by Mrs. Cora Office with Mrs.
Willier McKeithan presiding as president.

RENDER SERVICE IN SOUTH CAROLINA
The pastor, Bishop John Russell, Jr., and members of
Bible Way Church, Durham, went by chartered bus to Col
umbia, S.C., March 17-18, to particpate in the Eleventh
Anniversary celebration of Bishop Frank Brooks of the
Hephzibah Apostolic Holiness Church.
Overseer and Mrs. Meadows will sponsor a building fund
program on Sunday night, April 1 at 7:30 at Bible Way
Apostolic Temple. On Tuesday night, regular Bible teach
ing will be held and on Friday night, Tarry Service is
scheduled.
