Last year over 500 people attended the affair and it is expected to attract at least that many alumni and friends this year. He won his most recent electio with more than 58 per cent of the vote in Delaware, and in his previous election gained national attention for his defeat of a Repub lican opponent who had had the most successful political career in the history of Delaware. Speaking at the Wake County Democratic Women's 10 a.m. breakfast that day will be Sarah Weddington, President Carter's advisor on issues affecting women. She chairs the President's Interdepart mental Task Force on Women, replacing Bella Abzug. Ms. Weddington is a former member of the Texas House of Repre sentatives, and is an attorney. DOWN FOR VIETNAM VETERANS Approximately 854,000 Vietnam Era veterans will lose their GI Bill eligibility during fiscal year 1979, according to data released today by the Veterans Administration. The estimate is based on the number of veterans who will reach the tenth anni versary of their separation from military service when, by law, their GI Bill Rights expire. VA Administrator Max Cleland said that although the Vietnam Era GI Bill has been used by a record 65 per cent of veterans, many thousands more still have time to make bene ficial use of the program. "We're doing" all we can to make veterans aware of the time factor," Cleland said.
