WHITE ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH YOUTH RECEIVE
MADGE HARGRAVES SERVICE AWARDS
The Madge Tucker Hargraves Memorial Award is given
each year to two youths in White Rock Baptist Church, 3400
Fayetteville Street, for outstanding service. This award is
made possible by Mrs. Hargraves' niece, Mrs. Madge H.
Harry. Her purpose in giving the award is to inspire youth to
render more Christian service.
This year's recipients are: Clyde Moore, III, a graduate of
North Carolina Central University and Clark A. Egerton, III,
a graduating senior at Hillside High School. Moore is the son
of Mr. & Mrs. Clyde Moore, Jr., 910 Lawson Street. Egerton
is the son of Mr. & Mrs. Clark Egerton, Jr., 614 Cecil Street.
PASTORAL DAY AT BIBLE WAY
The regular Pastoral Day of Bible Way Apostolic Church
will be held Sunday, June 3. Communion Services will be
held Sunday night.
Bible Way had a glorious time Sunday night, May 27 at
their Building Fund Program. Bishop Smith and his con
gregation from Pittsboro and Sister McCoy and her con
gregation from Raleigh were the guests for that program.
Noon Day Prayer is held daily at 12 noon.
The Bishop John Russell, Jr. is the pastor of Bible Way.
NEW BETHEL CELEBRATES CENTENNIAL "
The New Bethel Baptist Church, is celebrating its "100
Years of Christian Progress" during 1979. The sub-theme for
June is "A Guide to Christ for Understanding by Youths."
The celebration for June will begin with Ladies Day on
Sunday, June 3, Youth Day on Sunday, June 10 and Father's
Day on Sunday, June 17.

Vickers is considered one of the "pioneers" of New Bethel
