Donald Dixon has been' named principal at Ramsey
Street School; James E. Purcell, formerly principal at
Walker School, has been named principal at Ferguson-
Easley School; William C. Harrison is named principal
at Walker School and Mrs. Martha Calvin has been
named to a new position as principal in charge of Fuller
and Hillsboro Street schools. We congratulate them and

The third annual Shekinah Spiritual Retreat Conyen-
' tion was held at .Westarea Deliverance Temple Church,
.4814 Murchinson Road. Sponsored by the North
Carolina Chapter, the Convention was led by Elder
' Ivory Maulden, international president; and' the Rev,
Maurice Johnson, international vice president, and
pastor of the church. Theme of the 'meeting was "I
Won't Turn Back". Participants came from throughout
the United States. Benjamin Sylvester Ruffin, was
speaker for "Youth Day" on Sunday at Evans
Metropolitan A.M.E. Zion Church.
Miss Yvonne da Sherrie Cunningham and Sgt. Jimmy
Henry Copeland, Jr., of Orlando, Florida, were mar
ried Saturday afternoon in Williams Chapel Church.
They enjoyed a reception in the. church fellowship hall.
The couple will reside in Fayetteville. The bride is a
graduate of Davidson Collece and is emnloved with the
