DECEMBER 22. 1979 Deaths And Services SAMUELS Funeral services for Fred Samuels. 70. of 1208 Hamlin St., who died Monday, December 10 at Duke Medical Center, were held Saturday, December 15 at Greater St. Paul Baptist Church by Dr. W. T. Bigelow. Burial was. in Beechwood Cemetery. Surviving are one son, James H. McLean; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Proctor; two brothers, Sam Samuels of Washington. D. C. and Gene Samuels of New York City; one sister. Mrs. Mary Gomes of Providence, R. I.; five grandchildren: two great-grandchildren. AUSTIN Funeral services for Samuel "Rip" J. Austin of 3512 Chapel Hill Road, who died Sunday, December 9 at home, were held Friday, December 14 at Scarborough & Hargett Memorial Chapel by Rev. W. E. Daye. Burial was in Glennview Memorial Park. , He was a native of Tampa, Fla and attended Durham Technical Institute. He was a television repairman and a member of the International Brotherhood of Broadcasters. He was the founder of Church Inc. Surviving are his wife.
