W. Augustus Low, Ph.D. and a professor of history at the
University of Maryland, Baltimore County, served as the
editor of The Journal of Negro History for four years. Virgil
A. Clift, Ph.D. and a distinguished visiting professor of
education at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, formerly
taught at New York'University. Both men have written exten
sively for professional journals, magazines and newspapers.
