" In November, 1980, birth day celebrations were held across the United States and abroad in honor of 80-year-old composer Aaron Copland. On his actual birth date November 14 Copland was honored at the Kennedy Center with selec tions from his life's work performed by the National Symphony Orchestr, with Mstislav Rostropqvich, Leonard Bernstein, and Copland himself conducting.
