Musical Program At White Rock
An Inspirational Song Festival will be held at White
Rock Baptist Church, 3400 Fayetteville St., Sunday,
March 29 at 6:30 p.m. Appearing on the program will
be the Wake Chapel Junior Choir, Raleigh; New Hope
Young Adult Choir; Choraleers of Greater St. Paul
Baptist Church; Gospel Choir of Mount Calvary United
Church of Christ; Charles Noel, soloist; and Mrs.
Virginia W. Alston, program coordinator.
Rev. Lorenzo A. Lynch is pastor of White Rock.
Cooperative Community Ministry
The Cooperative Community Ministry is a Worship
Commission to sponsor Joint Worship Service each
fifth (5th) Sunday. Cooperating churches are : Bell
Yeager Free Will Baptist Church, Dr. David Ball,
pastor; Peace Missionary Baptisth Church, Rev. WE.
Daye, pastor; Mount Calvary United Church of Christ,
Rev. J. C. Cheek, pastor; Emmanuel AME Church,
Rev. J. R. Crutchfield, pastor; and Zion Temple United
Church of Christ, Rev. D. J. Squires, pastor.
The Cooperative Community Ministry will celebrate
its 10th Anniverary with a Musical Program, Sunday,
March 29 at 6 p.m. at Mount Calvary United Church of
Christ, Athens St.
Joy Sunday at St. 'jseph's
The St. Jbseph's A.M.E. Chr.h Junior Church will
observe Joy Sunday, Sunday.vlarch 29 at 11 a.m.
Special guests will be: Tb Hillside Concert Choir,
Hillside Scholastic Achic s and the St. Joseph's
Tutorial Pupils. The its will include finalisrsrfor
the Morehead Merit a... residential Scholars. Dr. C.
Eric Lincoln, Professoi jf Religion, Duke University,
will preach.
Rev. W. W. Easley is the minister of St. Joseph's.
Day Apart At Allenvilie
The Durham District United Methodist Women will
observe a Day Apart, Saturday, March 28 at Allensville
United Methodist Church from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The Day Apart event is a spiritual retreat, a special time
for meditation, devotion and prayer;, Rev. Helen
Crotwell, pastor, Banks-Grove Hill, Granville Co., will
be the resource leader.
All persons planning to attend are asked to bring a
sandwich; beverages wil be provided by the host church.
The offering from this event will be contributed to
World Hunger Fund.

First Anniversary at first Calvary
. The First Anniversary of Rev. Vernon S. Thompson,
paster of First Calvary Baptist Church, 1311 Morehead
Ave., will be o&served Sunday, March 29. Rev. John
Mendez, a native of New York City and pastor, Plea
sant Grove Baptist Church, Wendell, will deliver the 1 1
a.m. message. . '
The Anniversary Message will be delivered at 4 p.m.
by Rev. S. E. Tyndall, pastor, Friendship Baptist
Church, Winston-Sajem
Rev. Mendez studied at Interdenominational
Theology Seminary in Atlanta, Ga. and graduated from
Shaw University Raleigh. He is presently attending
Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary.
He is married and the father of two children.
Rev. Tyndall studied at Winston-Salem State Univer
sity. He served as pastor of Reverend 'Thompson while
he resided in Winston-Salem. He is married to the
former Evelyn Edwardk. They are the parents of a
daughter.
New Generation Singers At
Ebenezer
The Soul Seekers Bible Class of Ebenezer Baptist
Church, 2200 S. Alston Ave., will present the New
Generation Singers in Concert, Sunday, March 29 at 6
p.m. Ronald Fisher will be featured as guest soloist.

The Bible Way Family will render service at Siler Ci
ty, Sunday, March 29.
Mrs. Ethel Williams and the Floral Club will sponsor
a service at 7:30 p.m. All choirs will sing for the morn
ing worship service.

Tarry Service is Fridays at 7:30 p.m.

Rogers Grove Installation Service
Installation service for Rev. Joe E. Allen, pastor of
Rogers Grove Baptist Church, will be held Sunday,
March 29 at 6 p.m. Rev. Allen began his pastorate the
first Sunday in August, 1980. Rev. J. A. Brown,
pastor, Second Baptist Church, Chapel Hill, will be the
guest speaker.
He teaches at North Carolina Central University. '
He is married to the former Sybil J. Barbee and they
are the parents of four children.
