Slem, HI , in 1831. He wu on his wjr to Springfield, and without
the help of die town storekeeper he might never have gotten there.
Florville was a barber by trade and his tall, lanky, new-found
friend took him over to the RutleH - Tavern and lined him up
some customers. After a couple of shaves and haircuts, Florville had
enough money to continue bis journey.
Six years later, the two men met again in Springfield. Florville
then was the owner of the only barbershop in town.
