.Union Christian Bible Institute Starts 17th
On September 15, Union Christian Bible In- I
stitute, 201 Barnhill St., will begin classes for its !
seventeenth year of service. Classes will be held
each Monday through Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m.
The school offers courses to meet needs of the areas
of Christian Education, Bible Study, Theological 1
training, and elementary education.
Fall registration will be held on September 15, 16
and 17 and classes will begin Monday, September
21. Among the fall semester offerings are Old
Testament, Christian Education, History of the
Black Church, Basica and Advance English, and
Basic Theology.

of the Spartanburg district
and in 1938 he held the
same positions in the
Savannah, Ga. and Durham
districts. He was named a
special agent in 1940, ''
agent supervisor in 1944,
regional supervisor in 1951
and assistant to the agency:
director in 1957.? He was;
named agent secretary irr
1964, retiring in 1969. V
Gilliam was also a
member and officer of the
Coordinating Council for
Senior Citizens, an elec
tion's judge in the Hillside

29 as Dr. Grady D. Davis Day in North Carolina,
the proclamation coincides with the honoring of,
Dr. Davis by the Durham Chapter, NAACP, at its
Seventh Annual Freedom Fund Dinner to be held at
the Durham Civic Center at 7 p.m. Dr. Davis is
pastor of Union Baptist Church and a Shaw Univer
sity professor.
