CHRISTMAS PROGRAM Hundreds of PearsOntown youngsters in kindergarten through third grade will present a Christmas program, com plete with costumes and props, at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14, in the Pearsontown gym. Dress rehearsal for this traditionally colorful show will be at 9:30 a.m. on the 14th. , Soloists, drawn from the choir and alumni in clude. Ms. Vanessa Davis, soprano; Ms. Linda Thompson, contralto; James Outlaw, tenor; and Kenneth Holt, bass. The choir will be accompanied by members of the Winston-Salem Symphony. .The choir will be conducted by Dr. Robert L. Morris who recently returned from terminal degree studies in choral music which included performing in the Classical Music Seminar held in Austria. THE HILLYER CONCERT CHOIR of Raleigh and members of the North Carolina symphony will present an all Mozart Concert on December 13 at 7:30 p.m., in the Duke Chapel. The program will include "Exultate, Jubilate", K. 165 and the United States' premiere of "Missa Solemnis in C Minor" K. 139, under the direction of Paul B.: Conway. Soloists will be Ms. Melinda Wilkinson, soprano; Ms. Johnnie Conway, alto; James Powers, tenor, and James H. Edwards, bass. This Christmas program will last one hour and the public is cordially invited without charge. DAISY AUTOMATIC SCHEDULE DAISY is a 24 hour telephonetape service provided by Durham Technical Institute. During the hours 3-8 p.m. Monday-Thursday, any tape in the DAISY program is available by calling the DAISY Operator at 596-0611. When the DAISY Operator is not on duty, ten tapes are available. Dial the phone number listed and the tape will play automatically. BOOKMOBILE IS GETTING TREATMENT The Durham County Library has notified us that the Bookmobile is in the process of getting a generator to provide heat and air conditioning. They hope to have it back on schedule by next week. HOSTS AND HOSTESSES NEEDED The Volunteer Services Bureau reports that Hosts and Hostesses are needed to assist with a holiday ex hibit, "The Magic of Miniatures" to be displayed to the public December 13, 19, 20. Volunteers will act as guides and could help one time with a 1-4 p.m. shift. High school students are welcome to participate. A 53-year old lady needs a friendly visitor. A warm, responsible person who is able to read and write would be most appreciated.
