Benefit Banquet To Honor
Durham Chapter NCSC .
The annual "benefit banquet" and musical pro
gram sponsored by the N.C. Association of Asian
Indians this year will honor and support the
Durham Chapter of the National Council of Senior
Citizens. This special community event is planned
for Saturday, March 27, at 6 p.m., at the Trinity
United Methodist Church in Durham.

1 Williams Family Circle
The Williams Family Circle held its regular mon
thly meeting at the home of Mathew Mitchell on
Ridgeway Avenue. The meeting opened with the
singing of a hymn, scripture and prayer.
Officers for the year were elected. The "Chicago
Trip" for the month of July was discussed. The
Family Reunion is scheduled to be held the second ,
weekend in May. Miss Kimly Alston is running for
"Miss Taugadetta" for 1982. Miss Katrina Boykin .
is in the Honey Doll Contest. The Circle attended
the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and the circus on
Saturday morning. Copies of the Newsletter were
received. The April meeting will be held with Mrs.
Josephine Plummer on Bacon Street. ,

The Thrifty Service Club met with Mrs. Aline
Davis and Mrs. Mable Bryant in the home of Mrs. ;

Mrs. Beatrice Holman, the first vice president,
prsided. Mrs. Genevieve Rogers led the devotion. .
Reports from various committees were given. Pro
gress is being made on the three planned trips in
April, June and August. Also the Easter Monday
Breakfast will be served at a local restaurant. Plans
for the picnic in July, the project at the Village Din
ner Theatre and Christmas program were tabled.
The hostesses received lovely gifts, flowers and
cards. Mrs. Christine Sales thanked them for a
delightful dinner and enjoyable evening. ,
