1 'J'// ht Cat! tmB ||’'THE^UTHlli!Wi5E0f|| insights & entertainment NCCU Department of Dramatic Art To Present ‘Paint A Pretty Picture’ North Carolina Central University’s Department of Dramatic Art will present PAINT A PRETTY PICTURE, a musical fantasy about personal triumph over adversity for the whole family. PAINT A PRETTY PICTURE is a part of our Stage Four productions which feature NCCU DeparUnent of Dramatic Art senior directors debuting tlieir work on our main stage. It is suitable for all age groups particularly primary through middle or junior high school. Parents are encouraged to bring their yonng children. Opens April 4. Denise Barnes, a senior dramatic arts major from Asheville, N.C., is both author and director of the play: She also wrote, co-wrote, or arranged many of the songs in the play. The play is choreographed by Irving Truitt, Ir., also a former student in the Department of Dramatic Art, and a native of Durham, N.C. James Deberry, Jr. provides musical direction for the play. Cast members Anita Houze, of Durham, N.C.; Amy Waddell, of Louisburg, N.C.; Jacqui Watson, of New York City, N.Y,; LaTonia Clausell, of Atlanta, Ga.; Tyris Jones, of Laurinburg, N.C.; Tonia Lawrence, of Pensacola, Fla.; and choreographer of the play Irving Truitt, Jr. PAINT A PRETTY PICTURE continues the Department’s 40th anniversary season recognizing the talents and conpibutions of NCCU students and faculty, past and present, and celebrating the contributions of the Department of Dramatic Art to the University and community. We invite and urge you to join us in our continuing celebration and hope that you will help us in publicizing this event.
