EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR: One (1) Position DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES fhe Executive Director shall be responsible for obtaining continued funding for the operation and programs of the Shelter and all public relations related to the activities of the Shelter. The Executive Director shall report directly to the Joint Board for the Homeless and make regular reports to the County Manager. The Executive Director shall be responsible for the following duties: 1. Responsible for coordinating, with the aid of the Shelter Coordinators and staff, all programs and activities orovided within the Shelter, which will break the cycle of Homelessness. 2. Responsible for the direct supervision and evaluation of the Shelter Coordinators. 3. Develops and administers standards and procedures related to personnel including staff development, training and evaluation. 4. Works with the Joint Board for the Homeless in implementing established policies and makes regular reports to this decision-making body and required reports to the Office of the County Manager. 5. Responsible for obtaining continued funding through grant writing and fund raising acUvities. 6. Develops and maintains relationships with local city and county governmental agencies and community organizations. Develops a strong advocacy program for the needs of the homeless through public relations. 7. Maintains appropriate records and statistics for evaluation, planning and assessment of programs and services for the Shelter Guests. 8. Gathers information on the needs and resources for the homeless in the area senrices by the Shelter. 9. Any other duty which may be assigned by the Joint Board for the Homeless. CHARACTERISTICS: Able to be creative and imaginative in implementing the Mission of our Shelter and is sensitive to the plight of the Homeless. Has the communicative skills needed to work effectively with various agencies, individuals and communities. Has background in administration and grant writing. QUALIFICATIONS M.A. or M.S.W.TTr Bachetor’s degree, and five (5) years experience in administration or five (5) years experience in public relations and grant writing experience.
