Satterfield officiated. "InteiTnent was in Glennview Memorial Park. He died May 11, at Univer sity Hospital, Baltimore, Md. ' He. was born September 20, 1967 in Pinehurst, N.C. He was a 1985 graduate of Owings Mills High School and held a certificate in electron ics from Western Vocational Technical School. He later attended Catons- ' vijle Community College where he majored in computer science.-He was employed as a correctional officer by the State of Maryland for seven years and worked as an Escort Transport officer. Surviving are his parents, Mrs. Betty and Robert Royal; his biological father and stepmother, Rev. Thomas J. Satterfield, Sr. and Mrs. Callie Satterfield of Durham: a daughter, Ms. Rykeisha Royal of Reisieriown, Md.; a sister. Ms. Kemi Satterfield of Durham; two brothers, Thomas J. Satterfield, Jr. of Durham and Tony Royal of Owings Mills, Md.; two stepsisters, Ms. Alfredia Chase of Tennessee and Ms. Vanessa Shell of Georgia; maternal grandmother, Mrs. Myrtle Williams of Southern Pines; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Farrington of Durham; several aunts, uncles and cousins. High, pastor, of ficiated. Interment was in Glennview Memorial Park. She died Wednes day. May 15. She was born June 1, 1919 in Snow Hill, a daughter of the late Alfred and Mrs. Lucendia Wilks Fields. She was a graduate of Greene County High School in Snow Hill and DeShazor’s Beauty College in Durham. She was a cosmetologist and operated Fleming Bake Kitchen. She had been employed at Duke University for 11 years. She was a member of Mount Vernon'Church, its Faithful Redeemed Bible Class, the Chapel Choir and Mass Choir, and Circle Bible Class at Oak Grove Freewill Baptist Church. She was married to the late John Fleming, Sr. -Surviving are lyC'o sons. Johnny Fleming, Jr. and Joseph Fenton Flem ing. both of Durham; two granddaughters. Mrs. Kalimah Fleming Nash and Ms. Lalifah Fleming/both of Durham; a great-granddaughter. Miss Kibriyaa M. Nash of Durham; two sisters.
