The Tribune of the 15th says that the money market has at last returned to a condition of case, and borrowers have met their daily requirements at the ruling rate ol seven per cent in currency, the closing quotations being five and six. The banks are getting on a more solid foundation, and are in daily receipt of money from the interior, and though the larger proportion is yet in the form of national currency, more legal tenders are coming forward than before. Discounts are unchanged. From the period when sureeons attlicd their salves to weapons instead of wounds to the present wide-awake age, the medi cal profession has often nnwittingly taken side with Disease in its conflicts with the human system. Even yet, in spite of the teachings of centuries of experience, some physicians believe in depleting their pa tients,; already seriously exhausted by sick nessywith ? powerful evacuants, emetics salivants cautharidal plasters, or the lan cet. Hut, pmvmentiallv. public mtelli- ence is ahead of these medical fossils, who dong; of right, to the era of the Crusades! That powerful allay of nature in its war fare with the causes of sickness, Hostetter's Stomach Bitters, has opened the eves of the masses to tlie paramount importance of increasing the vital strength of the body when menaced by disease. They under stand that when the atmospheric condi tions are adverse to health as,- for exam ple, in damp, chilly or severely cold weath er -it is wise to reinforce the system with a wholesome' tonic and stimulant, and thus enable it to combat and repel the depres sing influence of an inclement tempera ture.. r"If the constitutional and animal powers were always thus recruited jn the presence of danger, the mortality from con sumption, bronchitis, chronic rheumatism, &c, would be much less than it now is. The causes which produce croups, colds, qninsey, dipthcria and catarrh seldom affect a strong and active vital svstem ; and of all vitalizing preparations, Hostet ter's Bitters has proved the most efficient. It is not claimed that this standard tonic is a specific for lung and throat maladies, as it is for dyspepsia, liver complaint and intermittents, but it' is unhesitatingly as serted that it is the best known safeguard against all the atmospheric elements of disease. "Cant Do Without It." This is what the stage and horse car companies, livery stable keepers, niembers of the turf, and all grooms and trainers sav of the Mustan Liniment. They "cant do without it. And why ? Bccanse it infallibly reduces the external swellings, Ac., which, .under vari ous names, impair the usefulness and value-oft-he king of quadrupeds, and also because, for sprains, strains, galls and other injuries to which horse-flesh is liable, it is the most trustworthy preparation in the market. Yet these recommendations comprise only a portion M its claims to public confidence. During a period of more than sixteen rears, it has been re cognized as a specific for many of the most agonizing disorders which afflict the hu man family such as rheumatism, gout, neuralgia, lumbago, ticdoloreux, sore throat,' earache, toothache ; and likewise as a peerless a pplicatipn for cuts, bruises, burns and scalds. Ir you feet, dull, despondent, drowsy, debilitated, have" frequent headaches, mouth tastes badly, poor apjetite, and tongue coated, you are suffering from tor pid liver, or "Billiousness." Nothing will cure you so speedily and permanentl3f as Dr. Pierce's Golden Medical Discovery. A Healthy Digestion, Life is rendered miserable when the di gestive organs are impaired. Food be comes repulsive ; the body emaciated ; the mind depressed and melancholy broods oyer you.
