The Fire Xast Evening. . -
T"A few minutes after 8 o'clock last evening,
the cry of "fireP' was sounded on the streets,

rain was pouring down in torrents at the
time,' hut more . than rain is necessary'' to

The barn had been struck , by, lightning,;
and, being filled with forage, was soon burn

in the stable, f When persons reached It
having discovered the fire, one of the horses
was lying down, and could not" be moved
It had evident! been'struck by the light

The other two were gotten out and , saved.
In a shed adjoining the barn, was a carriage,
which was also destroyed, the heat becom
