streets with the baby carriages, form three
abreast and march 'over the pavement, chat
ting so pleasantly and having just the best
sort of a time (while pedestrians step into
the gutter till they pass, or else allow them

as we write about it we grow red hot with
righteous indignation.
We hope no one will construe this into
an assault upon the babies ; we have a feel
ing of "true inwardness" for the little
things ; and when they come along- single
file it is real pleasant to see them kick up
their heels and cock 1 up one eye at you, as
much as to say. "stand aside till I pass ;"
but what we want to know is, have we no
rights which nurses are bound to respect ?
If we haven't, then we'll walk in the -middle
of the streets all the balance of our life ;
if we have, and can find it out,, then we in
tend to kill somebody. That is .all. The
jury may take the case. :;
