This occupied six hours. The procession, with banners inscribed "Catholic Unity," was prevented from entering Puerta del Sol, and the prohi bition was much applauded. Paris, March 21 The Chamber of Deputies has announced the election of W. Molarte from the Department of Hauteloire, because of the miscount of an election officer. This is the first election that has been annulled. It is stated that the Congregation of Rites hrs reported against the canoni zation of Joan f Arc. The office of the Eepublique Fran caiseh&s been broken into by burglars and robbed of 55,000 francs. London, March 21. A Times Paris telegram says it is stated that the am nesty proposal only obtained the adhe sion of 8 senators and 27 deputies. Of 350 provincial papers, only 3 approve of unqualified amnesty. The Post learns that the Carlist refugees in Franco w ill possibly form a foreign le gion for service in Algeria. The Times Vienna special says the joint action of the powers seem to have produced its effect at Belgrade. Olympias, the Servian negotiator, has been recalled from Montenegro. Mid-Night Dispatches. Ugly Rumors About a Judge. New York, March 21. Rumors are in circulation that ex-Judge Wni. C. Barrett, who sailed for Europe on Sat urday, has committed forgeries to the amount of $300,000. His law partners and friends deny tliat he has commit ted, any crime, bat admit that he is insolvent. He has been prominent, socially and politically, in New York, and was believed to be very wealthy. WASHINGTON. Congress Rf port Adverse to Dana Butler Before the War Expense Committee. Washington, D. C, March 21. Senate. The Committee of Cenfer ence asked on the West Point appro priation, presented a large petition against the sale of liquor in the district. The diplomatic bill was reported with a number of amendments. It is stated that the Senate Foreign Committee has agreed to report ad versely to Dana. Butler was before the War Expenditures Committee, to relieve Smith frum his pledges. But ler knew nothing, but had carried on an investigation on his private account for his own purposes. He had his suspicions, but had nothing tangible; thought it strange that Pendleton should have his fee cut up and the amount received by Mrs. Bowers should fit one of the parts. He left the committee with the impression that he knew something which they had not shrewdness to elicit, howeyer important. CEHTTR-AXr HOTEL BLOOD. A Chapter of Murders Snow. Wasuingtoit, March 21. John W. Perriman to-day killed his brother at Greenville, Illinois. A negro killed another at Madison counts', Illinois. Coke Wood killed Gurville at Oak land, Mississippi. The heavi est snow of theseeson prevails through out our county. Thewharf houses have been destroyed. Three schooners are ashore at Pascaeoula. A man was lost from one schooner. Lake Ponch ian is higher than since '71. 20 miles of the New Orleans & Mobile road are submerged. SOUTH CAROLINA. Montgomery Mo9es Found Guilty- Solicitor Butt Impeacnea. Colombia, March 21. In the State Senate to-day, Montgomery Moses Judge of tlue Seventh Circuit, was found guilty of high crimes and misdc meanors and formally dismissed. U the committee of three, to investigate C. W. Butts. Solicitor of the Charles ton Circuit, the majority reports him euiltv of bieh crimes and misdemean ors, and recommend his impeachment. The House meets to-night to act upon ihe reports. Washington, D. C, March 21. Senate. Gordon presented a petition from Brunswick and Macon, Ga., for harbor improvement. A bill for the relief of the heirs of Gen. James Harls ton, passed. Counting the electoral vote was resumed, but no action was taken. Executive session. Adjourned. The Committee on Foreign Rela tions reported adversely on Dana as Minister to England. House. The Committee on Expen ditures in the Treasury Department, was instructed to enquire into the management and disposition of cap tured and abanded property. A bill amending the laws regulating com merce, navigation and steamboats, was made special order for Tuesday. A bill authorizing the transfer of cases from the Circuit Court of the United States, for the District of Alabama, at Mobile, to the Circuit Court of the United States for the Middle and Northern District of Alabama, at Montgomery and Huntsville, passed. The House went into Committee on the Judicial, Executive and Legisla tive Appropriation Bill. There was a full Cabinet to-day. Three members of Congress have permission by resolution of the House, to appear before the Grand Jury in a real estate pool case. Edwin Booth realized $52,000 by his Southern tour. Gen. Butler has given confidentially the names of certain parties who are now in New Orleans, who claim to know about Mrs. Bowers' receiving money from Pendleton. The Star says it is generally believed that they are Mrs. Gen, Roddy and Mrs. Bennet. Evans, the Post Trader at Fort Sill, generally subtantiates Marsh. Evans paid General Rice $1,000 for an intro ductioh to Belknap. Rice wanted $1,500. Ex-Senator Stewart's evidence to-day is mainly narrative and pre liminary. He contradicts some of Lyons' statement. The Supreme Court overruled the exceptions in the case of Thomas Piper, who was con victed of the murder of Mabel Young in the belfry of WarrenA venue Church, and sentenced.
