Papal Relations With Spain Not Dis solvedFire in Bristol Panic in Eastern Securities. Rome, May 25. - At a meeting of the Cardinals, the Pope being present, it was resolved that the relations with Spain shall not be formally suspend- ed, but that the Nuncio at Madrid be granted an indefinite leave of absence. London, May 2o.-Seven houses have been destroyed in Bristol, and the fire still rages. The firemen are power less. The uneasiness as felt regarding the Eastern question, is. affecting all class es of securities. Those of the Govern ment directly within its influence, suf fer most, but the whole market is flat. Turkish and Egyptian bonds are to day at the lowest point yet touched. The firmness in the rate of discount is attributable to the same cause. Bankers, preferring a loss of business to risk, are locking up their money for a considerable per ctnt. At a time of such uncertainty and uneasiness, the supply of money available for short loans is very large, and is not in de mand at any price. Paris, May 25. Illinois Republicans for Blaine Like wise Missouri And Minnesota And Kansas Michigan Democrats Divided Between Tilden and Hen dricks. Springfield, May 25. The platform remits the currency question to the National Convention. Beveridge ad dressed the Convention endorsing Blaine. A resolution declaring it im politic to send Federal oliice-holders to the National Convention, was re jected. St. Louis, May 25. The platform de clares for coin or paper convertable into coin. The delegation stands : Blaine 14, Morton 12, Bristow 3, Conk ling 1. St. Paul, Minx., May 5. The plat form is for hard money or its equiva lent in paper convertable into coin. Blaine is Minnesota's proud preference for President. A resolution instruct ing the delegation to vote on all ques tions as a unit was lost. Topkka. Kas.. May 25. After debate from 10 to 12 o'clock, a resolution de claring Blaine first choice, passed, Senator Ingalls will be supported for Vice-President. Lansing, Mich., May 25. The Dem ocratic Convention adopted two sets of resolutions. The money resolution of the platform was adopted, leaving details to the legislators. "We re assert that coin is the only money rec ognized by the traditions of the Dem ocratic party as warranted by the Constitution." The delegation stands 16 for Tilden and 6 for Hendricks. WASHINGTON. Committee end House Doings. Washington, May 25. The Judi ciary Committee is in full seeret ses sion. The House non-concurred in the Senate amendments to the bill appoint ing receivers for National Banks, and asks a committee ol conference. The House went into Committee of the Whole on the Morrison tariff bill, re ported by the Committee of Ways and Means. Morrison is speaking. NEW YORE. It cost a auarter of a million. INDIAN TERRITORY. Sad Reports From the Black Hills. CiMciXNATi, May 25. A letter from S. E. Mott, one of a company of Cin- cinnatians who left for the Black Hills (some time ago, dated at Kearney Junc tion, May 21st, states that the Indians are on the war path, killing miners at a fearful rate. He says that out of 42 men at Dearwood, 27 have been killed by savages, and 5 other men were kill ed and scalped within 3 miles of Cus ter City. There is plenty of gold, he say, northwest of Custer City, but it is impossible to get at it on account of the Indiana. FLASHES. Boston, May .25. The liabilities of Beard, Moulton & Daniels, clothiers, are estimated at $200,000; the assetts may reach this sum. Bowling: Green, Kv., May 25. The Cumberland Presbyterian Conference decided that the Roman Catholic Church was not orthodox, consequent ly baptism is invalid, but the matter must rest finally with the church ses sion to which the candidate applies for admission. The Silk Smuggler Pleads SGuilty Talmage Moving for a Union of Northern and Southern Presby terians. New York, May 25. Law ranee, the silk smuggler, plead guilty to an in dictment charging him with forgery. The Custom House entries cover sub stantially the charges for which the extradited prisoner was remanded for sentence and bailed. Pierrepont's visit to New York had reference to this case. In the Presbyterian Conference, an overture on promiscuous dancing, de ploring the practice and regretting the practice of such dancing by members ef christian families, and counseling the church to arrest the evil, was adopted. There was a discussion during which Dr, Talmage rose and said he had telegraphed to Dr. Moses Hoge, at Savannah, asking if steps could be taken by this assembly to meet the yiews of the Southern Assembly in promoting the union between the Church North and the Church South, and received a reply that any sponta neous resolution of our Assembly would receive most respectful consid eration. Dr. Talmage then offered a resolution setting forth that all expres sions of an offensive nature between the two sections of the Presbyterian Church, be denied, and that the hands of invitation be stretched to their Southern brethren, to unite with them in fraternal relations, and requesting the Assembly at Savannah to send two delegates to the meeting in Brooklyn advising thenf of their departure, and promising to send two delegates to Savannah, so that both bodies would not adjourn until the churches on earth and in heaven have, begun the jubilee of the glorious consummation. After discussion, the resolution was referred to the Committee of Corres pondence. WASHINGTON. C, May 25 A let ter is published from Pierrepont to Gibson, that the question of immuni ty for Seelye had been presented to the Cabinet. The President had been noti fied tkat several members of the New Orleans Committee were not in favor of immunity, and it was not deemed best to grant it. Nominations: Jos S Ruttan, Consul to Florence, vice Wert Sykes, with drawn: Geo W Patton, Marshal for West Virginia. The Elections Committee has decid ed to refer Buttz v$. Mackey back to the people. The Conference Committee on the Diplomatic Appropriation Bill had session to-day. James Wiles, of New York, has en tered suit against the Trustees of A G Sloo, for half of the million dollars awarded for the mail contracts. The full Judiciary Committe decided that the sub-committee should not re cieve Sears' testimony, but that Cald well, who is in Europe, be summoned H0TJ8I. While the committee does not believe him guilty of frauds, hi subsequent speculative dealings in the shares of the company were not com patible with his diplomatic situation mi . . ine committee, tneretore, recom mends the adoption of the resolution claring Mr Schenck's action as ill- advised, unfortunate and incompati ble with the duties of his official posi tion. The report went over The Committee of the District was directed to inquire for a copy of the report published in the New York Tribune and Evening Star. The Chair man stated that the paper had not been considered more than an hour, and had not been adopted by the Com mittee. A Democratic caucus is an nounced for to-night. Adjourned. Senate. A bill for the relief of Wm Rule, post master at Knozville, was reported favorably : calander. A bill was introduced removing the political disabilities of Dr Thos H Williams, of Maryland.
