London, Oct G The grade dispatch says: The English policy is a leading factor in Servian calculations. The war party expects Russia to declare war with the approv al of -bnglaod. This expectation is founded on the sentiment of the Eng lish people as gathered from the pub lie meetings. A linaes lSerlin dispatch says Should Russia persist in occupying Bulgaria, Austrian troops will not only occupy Bosnia and Herzegovinia, but will operate aeainst the Servians. The Turkish Generals have resumed oper ations, but are avoiding Alexinatz and Deligrade, and are penetrating north, into the eastern counties. This is the result of the Russian proposals to Austria. The Sclavonic committee at Constantinople reports that a fear ful catastrophe will befall Bulgaria un less Russia intervenes before winter. Austria is anxious to force the peace programme on the Porte, butsince the independent action by Russia, even the acceptance by the Porte of the programme would not offer a solution The Roumanian government keeps thirty thousand soldiers nearly to pro tect the country. Preparations are making to tranenort these troops to O A the Bessarabian frontier. The News' Vienna dispatch says: Italian journals freely discuss the gain ing of territory from Austria. A special passen ger train, !hast, containing soldiers homeward bound from reunion at Indianapolis on the Indianapolis, Cin cinnati & LaFayette Railroad, collided with the freight train 6 miles East of Gremsburg, Indiana, thia morning. Additional particu lars of the captuee of Los Tumas by the insurgents under Vicente Gorcin during the night of Sept 22, says about five hundred insiirgents headed by Vincente Gorcin attacked Los Tumas on three sides. A portion of the Span ish troops at the front surprised were made prisoners near the fort; the re mainder were distributed by Gercie in various housas. while some citizens and volunteers fortified themselves in the court house. During the confus- ioh attending the attack, Gerciawas assassinated by his own soldiers. Up on capturing the fort the insurgents turned its guns on the court house, political ac- disabling fifty-four men, after which they took possession of the city. Vi cente Gorcia then sent a message to the Spanish Governor in Halguin noti fying him that he had 40 Spanish prisoners and 105 wounded, who would receive proper attention if the Govern als are received with satisfaction, as hnnpn are entertained of Russian in tervention. Death from Yellow Fever Suspen sion of a Prominent Speculator. New York, Oct 6. It is stated that Hugh McShaw employed on the steam er Charleston, playing between New York and Charleston, died at his home in Brooklyn of yellow fever. He reached here September 22nd, from Charleston and went home ill, dying last Wednesday. The building where he lived has been disinfected and the clothing burned. At ; eleven o'clock to-night, the Independent State Central Committee nominated Judge j Henry Harrington of Indianapolis, for Governor, in place of Hon. Anson- Walcott, declined. They also 'passed resolutions denouncing Mr. Walcott as a traitor to the Independent party, land charging him with having been corrupted with Republican money Judge Harrington has written a letter accepting the nomination. Ezro Hays, the Independent cancli date for Congress in the Fifth District, to-day also declined to run. At a late hour last night the Chair man of the Independent State Central Committee authorized the statement, that the action of the committee in nominating Judge Harrington for Gov ernor. vice Anson Walcott, declined, was without official character, and is void ; no call for such a meeting hav ing been made. - MARYLAND. Arrested for Intimidation. Baltimore, Oct 6. A Supervisor or Rpo-istration and three United State Deputy Marshals have been arrested, charged with the intimidation ot voters-.
