the1 (counter proposals. The Russian,
German, Austrian and French dele

the Porte, and seemed inclined to cut
short' the discussion. After Lord Salis

calmer, deri. Ignatieff; however, sent
to the representatives a telegram from

The Election Imbroglio in the "Land
of Flowers."
Tallahassee, Jan. 2. The Supreme
Court nut and refused to receive the
canvass of the 27th u!t. The Court
ordered the Board to answer by four
o'clock this p. m., to the plain language
of the writ by canvassing and count
ing, and adding up the vote cast at the
election fur the office of Governor, and
who received the highest rote for such
office, and omitting in their returns
any votes cast for any peison for any
office, as the rights of presidential
electors and members of Congress
were not matters before the courts, and
could npt be inquired into. Under
these proceedings, the Board made
return at 5 o'clock, the court having
met at 4, and taken recess. The
counsel for the relator asked until to
morrow to examine the returns, and
the court adjourned to thst hour.

i Cosstahtinople, Jan.a 2.rrTb e' , 4th

It is stated that Geo- Ignatieff, Rus

of the power of any State government,
or of thje Federal government to vest
such powers as are claimed by the
Louisiana returning board in any can

views the action of Florida and South
