The commission had given its decision, and he disclaimed any inten tion of alluding to any of the reasons which prompted the decision of the commission, and believing that the State of Oregon intended to appoint a Republican elector, he should vote to sustain and affirm that iutention and the decision of the commission. He was also oppssed to impeding, in the slightest degree, the operation of the decisions of the commission, aud on the contrary, was in favor ef aiding it and consummating it at the earliest practicable moment. The decision was sustained by a party vote.
