The Atlantic has a fine band and a spacious ball room, but not by any means the only band and ball room in Beaufort. All the sojourners at the other hotels and private boarding houses, who desire it, will enjoy the same privileges. The writer is moat comfortably dom iciled at the admirably conducted Sea side House of Captain B L Perry, and his excellent, energetic wife, who, with respectful, well trained servants, cer tainly leave ndthing to be desired in the way of comfort and seaside living to those who are so fortunate as to se cure quarters for the summer at their first class establishment. The house is new, scrupulously neat and pure in all its departments; and although there is no "bar" and no "dancing school" connected with the house, there is certainly music and dancing for those who desire them, and in adjacent cot tages connected with the Seaside House, which cottages have front rooms open ing on verandas overlooking old ocean's vase expanse, there is perfect quiet and retirement for those who come simply to be benefitted, and to enjoy "the deep sea with music in its roar." The dormitories of this house are handsomely furnished, haying not only most "comfortable beds, as well as look ing glasses, pegs, rocking chairs and bureaux," but . even the "wash stands with appliances, and matting on the floors," which "M B C" thinks "may be bad." Nay, even Brussels carpet ing the guests of mine host Perry find on dormitory as well as on parlor floors. The writer speaks advisedly and experimentally when stating that no better accommodation is afforded at Old Point, Cape May, Saratoga, or Niagara in the way of substantial com fort, scrupulous cleanliness, attentive entertainers and an appetizing board than at this house. A more tempting cuisine than that of Mrs Perry is rarely enjoyed. Every variety of delicious fish that the waters afford : hard and soft crabs, oysters and eschalops, are unstintingly provided at every meal, dressed by a cook wno -Knows y a 111- 7 ' fTnnrtnnfttfilr not one woman in ImndredTBub- The Wilmington Review Says that jeetoHhewhirasof an AwwicancninaojbMe8- 1..1 cj,, j i j ! a.;il I ea tnat Dans ana iBrunjfWHi u wn uj a wiiuuuiwj a ioujt uim uu uitwuims i pure and clear complexion cuuuu, uuiug jen aiuuc iu iuo uuubw, went to the, front door and, upon open ing it, was confronted by a mulatto man who reached at her with an open knife, and inflicted a wound on her forehead and on her arm be fore she could get out of the way. The man then went into the parlor, took a seat and looking around, spied a cigar on the mantle which he lit and commenced puffing with the utmost complacency. In the mean time the lady was calling for help, and the man becoming frigatenejl betook himself off in the direction of Brad ley's Cteak. which separates Greenville frpfi Wrights ville Sound. IT' lm VThe Hillsboro Recorder says : Doctor. Wilson, the coroner of the county of Orange, was called upon Saturday to view the body of Calvin Murray, found dead at Compton's Jtnill, near Cedar Grove. It appearedin the evidence that the deceased, who was a man consider ably upwards of 70 years of age, had carried a grist of wheat to the mill with the assistance of a neighbor, who left him at the mill door. The mill is on the side of the hill, the lower side much higher than the upper. The ac cess to tne mining room is Dy steps leading to a platform from which a door opens to the room within. The miller being out at the time, the door was closed ; and while waiting, the old man appeared to have fallen off to the ground below, and was found soon af ter with his neck broken. The ver dict was in accordance with these facts. On the same morning the wife of Louis Carlton, colored, at Chapel Hill, while engaged in washing, sud denly stopped from her work, sat down and died immediately. MlYY. Ql LlsmaAiMX find.
