The Teachers' Association of North Carolina will hold a regular meeting during the session. Many distinguish ed educators have accepted invitations to address the Association. The names of the professors compos ing the faculty of the normal school will be given to the public hereafter. The school will open on Tuesday, the 17th of June next, and will continue six weeks. Applications for procuring pecuniary aid should be made on or before June 1st next to President Battle, at Chapel Hill, who will lay them before the board. If the amount applied for ex ceeds the fund at the disposal of the board, traveling expenses will be paid first, so as to place those at a distance on an equal footing with those near at hand. The residue, if any, will be ap portioned equitable among the appli cants. Applications should be accompanied by certificates from a judge, a chairman oi tne board ot county commissioners, or a Superior Court clerk, or a member of the Legislature, vouching for the good character of the applicant and his inability to pay his own expenses. Encouraged by the very gratifying success which has attended the former sessions of this important State school, tne board ot education hope to see the number attending doubled at least at the coming session. We are well as sured that this is the proper step to taka for the regeneration of DODular education in North Carolina. To im prove and enlarge the capacities of our teachers is to sharpen ' the tools with which we work, and we therefore aafain earnestly appeal, not to the teachers alone to come, but to all classes of our people to"atdtheni to cume andTeap tne beneats-df , the State's bounty.
