week. Mr Charles Ingram, who lives in
Chesterfield cdunty, on the Camden road,
twelve miles from Cheraw, while re
turning from Cheraw, was attacked by
five'men within few miles of his home,
and after being severely beaten, he was
tied and then mutilated in a horrid
manner. No cause can be assigned for
the diabolical deed, as Mr. Ingram is
generally regarded as an Upright and
inoffensive man. Suspicion rests upon
some tramps, who have infested that
