It is claimed that Kunkel's Nightin gale Minstrels which will appear here on Saturday night, October 1st, is one of the best troupes of the. kind on the road. Their entertainments are said to be more chaste and refined than those of the general run of minstrel shows, and no one need be afraid to attend on the score of delicacy. The troupe will no doubt receive a warm welcome as Geo. Kunkel is an old favorite through out the South, and this is his first ap pearance for some years. Death of J. N. Adams, a. Wealthy Tex an and Former jTlecltlen burner. A St Louis paper "announces the death in that city on Friday a week ago of Capt J. N. Adams, of Paris, Tex 33, formerly of this county. He died suddenly of congestion. Mr. Adams left Mecklenburg in I860,, and made his home in Texas where he accumulated a large fortune. The paper from which his death is learned says: "The Cap tain was considered one of the wealthi est citizens of Texas, and besides being a prominent mason, was at the head of the wholesale grocery trade of the southwest."
