Griffin, for many years a well known hotel keeper, died at Nashville, N. C, on the 15th inst., aged 81 years. Van Lindley has gained his suit against the Richmond and Danville Railroad for damage sustained, in the delivery of fruit trees during the win ter of 1880-81. This suit is one of a number and both parties agreed that it should be a test caseletting all the others depend upon the fssue in this one.
