The fair closed yesterday, and there
iai but one expression of opinion in
regard to it by those who visited the
grounds, and that is, that this fair
was decidedly fafiae one in all res
soects and a ntueW better fair; than
was generally 'expected Yesterday 's

crowds visited the grounds to see the
I&st of the fair, many going' early
cd remaining all dayr : The awards
iigof the premiums was the signal
for the general breaking up, but the
grounds did not put on a lonesome

they were about deserted. The award
of premiums was announced from
Moral Hall by the secretary, Col.
Chas. B. Jones, who had one of the
largest and most highly pleased audi
ences that ever gathered for a simi
lar occasion, lfeny of the preaiw

as cash, and . wero , preferred by
many exhibitors, of such an excel
lent character was the ware and of
such elegance the workmanship. The
