Hughes, chaplain of the Independent Light Infantry battalion, and her sister-officers of the State and local organisations, received from 91 until 10 o'clock, when the dance begun, opening with an old-fashioned quad rille, in which many prominent women from all over the State Joined, unbend ing a little from their wonted staid demeanor, butnot a whit from dignity and grace.
