She died liist night about midnight, the cause of her death being typhoid fever. She left a husband, one child, father, mother, three brothers and thrw elu tera. She was 23 years of age and her child Is about 4 years old. Just before midnight last night Mr. Pass Herndon and M'ss Carrie Oohs were united in marriage in East Dur ham. It was a runaway affair. The infant child of Prof. E. L. Mid dleton, of Cary, died yesteday after noon and the body was brought here this morning for Interment. The Infant child of H. It. Broun, living 'In North Durham, whs found dead In bed yesterday morning. The! child was 10 months old and died from strangulation, this being caused by a deep cold of a week's standing. Thu burial took place In the country. The Mangum School in Mungum township, this county, has been closed a weeK on account oi aipninerm in ui . section. The school opened again this morning. There were several cases or diphtheria In that section and two chil dren died of the disease. The scare la now over, flame Warden J. W. Dowd, recently appointed for this section,, has begun operation by having warrants Issued for prominent people who are charged with violating the laws. Those for whom warrants have been Issued are: T. J. Walker, Ulchmond;' H. A. Walk er, Danville: J. Arthur Palethrope. New York, and T. B. Yullle. New York. The warrants are returnable us noon a they can be served. The charge Is that these gentlemen hunted In this county without having first secured the Hpeclal license required by law. Two of the men, Mr. Yullle and Mr, Walker, are of theQuail Rooet Hunting Club, which has several thousand acres of land In this county, and the other two wen; Invited guests of this club. It i con tended by the friends of the men that they are not liable for tax, that they owned the land on which the' hunting was done, and that as a matter of fact Mr. Palethrope and Mr. T. J.
