J"i! i The performance given at th Acad emy Of Music last "night by Mrs. Kit tle Baldwin and hex company was ln- tereating and entertaining. Mr Bald win, omnomlst, and Prof.1 Keene, ma gician, were the whole show, the other members of the cast being incidental. The first part of the programme was "20 minutes in spiritland." during which Mrs. Baldwin did some mar velous stunts, with Capt. W. B. Kldd and Dr. I. W. Jamteaun, who acted as chief marvellers, on the stage to see that no "monkey buelness" was put up. After the 20 minutes of marvels Louis M. Granat, the whistling artist, whistled a solo and received two en cores. After this came Prefossor Keene's magical experiments. Several of them were old, this not detracting a great deal from the Interest In them, however. Two or three were ! eaaily seen through, but for the greater part Mr. Keene kept his audience wonder ing. Ed. Mullen then brought his troupe of canines on the stage and had them to do stunts. The real show began when Mrs. Baldwin, In a somnomistlc state, be gan reading the questions that had been written by persons in the audi ence, who retained the slips of paper with their questions. Mr. W. S. Orr's name was read in the seance-sleep and. In reply to his question, he was In ftirtned that there. would be no disas trous fire in the near future. Some one was informed that Roosevelt could be elected to the next term as Presi dent If he chose to be. In reply to a question that he had written she gave a vision of the escape of Bud Abernethy from the chain gang re cently and stated that he was on a nilgai- plantation In Louisiana. Mr. Charlie Norman, of Houston-Dixon Company, was given the initials of the person who stole three volumes of Shakespeare. The climax came when Mrs. Baldwin described the vision of the suicide of K. F. Madden, a clerk At the Cen tral Hotel, who" Bhor 'himself about '.BOUGHT THUS FbX, rnOFERTSV MeasiW Jallan H. WtUe, C; B.
