The funcrul ser vices of the nt President l)nvis. of Louisburg fjollcge were lu-ld to-day at the Methodist church which he had loved anj served for so many years. The church was crowded with friends and many old pupils of the distant past who had gutliered to pay their last last and respects to the noble deud. The scene was a solemn one as the casket wus borne 1o Hip Hilar, covored With beautiful Moral tributes, theic to rest under the nulogles of the Itev. Mr. Smith, while lt- 1, H. Mr. Davis was a member of the locul lodge of Masons here and. while the ceremonies were not under the auspi ces of that order, the lodge, without regalia, whs Invited to attend In n body, filling all the scats reserved for the members. The services at the church over, the proceaalon formed for the inarch to the grave. This procession was one of tha longeH seen here in many years. . The services tit the grave were short. The floral offerings were very profuse and the grave was literally covered with the choicest flowers, among them a large i-ross on which was Inscribed "Our President." the contribution of the teachers and pupils of Ixulsburg College, and a handsome wreath r co ntributed by a number of his old male ' pupils here.
