H was careful to bav the foot treat ed but tetanus developed yesterday. The unfortunate young fellow was on ly 25 years old. was a blacksmith by trade, and an excellent young clti sen. The funeral will be held to-morrow from his home. Thomas Hplloway, of Durham. Correspondence of The Observer. Durham, March 28. Thomas Hollo way a young white man on Cleveland street, died at an early hour this morn ing. He was about 24 years of age and had been a sufferer from lung trouble for several months. His burial will take place to-morrow. Dr. W. T, Sinclair, of Stanly. Correspondence of The Observer. Albemarle, March 23. Dr. W. T. Sinclair, of Norwood, died last night. He was taken sick several days ago with grippe. A few days ago it devel oped Into pneumonia, from which he noon died. He was a dentist of skill and large practice. At the time of his death he was mayor of the town or Norwood and also chairman of the county board of education. His re mains will be Interred In the Norwood Cemetery to-morrow. Dr. A. M. March 24. -The highway commission was her yesterday look ing after the road work going on thre miles from town. The macadam la be ing put down from the camp towards Jamestown, and the road from there 4o High Point is liliig graded for ma cadam. There has been some, trouble In arriving at a conclusion as to the course of this road. The old road makes the distance to Greensboro some nearer and the property owners alon this road have been working hard to secure this route. However. It Is now thought the road will take the course f the old one, following- the rail road a distance of two inllca Into the cltv. The bankrupt stock of W. H. Iigh ton was sold by order of the court here yesterday, Mr. Mr. E. D. Steele being trustee. The slock was bid off by Mr. W; P. Itngan, agent for another party who will open the business at once, If accepted by the court. A child of Mr. A. K. llouser. living In the northern part of the city, wan severely burned about the he:id this week. The little one was playing about 1h fire when he fell face f.ireinimt. When found, its head was In the fire and his little hands were grappling with live coals. It wan first thought that the burns would prove fatal and that the child's eyesight would be de stroyed but the physicians now think that the little one will recover and that the eyesight wlJI not be Impaired. The property is near Springfield meeting house, one and a half mllea from the city and a half miles from the city and a very .desirable location.
