Tt Is said that the new poles being put up by the 4C's for the suspension of the trolleys on the electric car lines, will last nearly a century. The new poles have been treated with creosote, the best preservative, and are being erected in concrete beds. As an extra "precaution to preserve them the butts of the poles extending four feet above the ground, are covered with galvan ized iron. Placed In the ground the poles cost from $25 to $40 each.
