Baptist ' church. which has Just been completed, will be dedicated to-day at 11 o'clock with a special dedication sermon by Rev.- ur. w. T. Tyree, pastor of, the First Bap tist' church, of Raleigh. The pro gramme announced., " calls for threa aervlces daring the day. At S p. m. there will b ' s anng service and abort talks by Mr. a. B Pruett, a brother of the pastor. Rev.' L. R. Pruett, by Mr. N. 8. Shaw, of Drake Branch, Va.. who la the father-in-law of Rev. Mr. Pruett. and Dr. W. C. Tyree, of Kalelgh. The aervlce at night will be a union service of all the Baptist churches of the city when short ad dresses will be made by Revs. J. F. Davis. T. Willlngham. 8. F. Con rad, J. Q. Adams and D. M. Austin. All the services will be attended by a. special selection of songs, , by the choir and solos by well-known slrigera. All these service will be largely at tended. Historical sketch of the church: The church la the outcome of a mis sion Sunday school and special Evan gelistic work done by Rev. L. A. Pruett and Dr. T. I- Frltchard. It was organized, June 15. ISM, with 18 members, and took the name of Twelfth Street Baptist church, which It retained until the church moved to the corner of Ninth avenue, when It assumed Its present name. 8lnce Ita organization, f0. persona have been added to Its membership. Its pcrs ent enrollment is 311. Out of this congregation, the church at Belmont, known as the Iule Baptist church was largely formed. The present , church property Is vulued at $18,000. with a debt of about 11,600. The heroic sui-rlflce of the membership of thts church Is really remarkable.
