Moore, the popular dep. uty clerk of court, had the misfor tune to step upon a small rock, which turned under his foot, in front of the court house yesterday about noon, with the result that his ankle was very painfully sprained. Mr. Moore fall heavily to the ground and could not lift himself for several moments thereafter, the pain was so Intense. With the assistance of several friends, he managed to mk his wsy home and a physician was summoned. The Injured member was attended to and Mr. Moor Is resting as well as might b expected. One of the handsomest alfts aver received by a Charlotte cltixen was the fine chest pf solid silver which was presented to Mr. R. M. Miller. Jr., the retiring- president of the Am erican Cotton Manufacturer' Associa tion at th convention In Ashevlll last week. There are S65 piece in the set, each piece bearing an en graved letter M, the monogram of th recipient of the gift.
