He said also that the properly could be sold at an advance of the price asked, 114,000. at any time, and that i a first mortgage could a,j.y be se rured amounting to 120.000 and that a second mortgage or 110,000 could be arranged, thus enabling the com mittee to strange for the purchase of the property, the erection of a building and the provision of equip ment and that this could all be accom plished for I3MMI0, leaving only $K. 600 to bo secured In addition to the amount secured from the mortgage Pr. Thla report recom.ocnded that appointment of a statistical se('- taTy of Synod and Rev. J. II. Cox. IX I., was appointed statistical sec retary by the president. The report of the committee on minutes of last Synod was read and adopted. The report of the committee on the Common Hook of Worship was read and adopted. CHANOK ON" COMMITTEE. On motion of Dr. W. L. Seabrook, Ir. R. C. Holland was relieved from membership on the publication com mittee, at his own request. Dr. Seabrook announced that 4Dr. Hol- land's request was due to the fact that he has already so many demands upon his time that he felt his request to be Justified, pr. Holland was re lieved, and on motion of Dr. Kcu- . . uiook. Dr. J. A. Hcherer whs elected mi the committee In Dr. oilllund'H stead. Synod adjourned with prayer to meet again at 2 o'clock. Synod voted that an Reformation Day, (which Is observed annually on the Sunday nearest the 31st of October) apeclal prayer ds offered for the Theological Seminary. COLLECTION IN APPRECIATION. On motion of Dr. Holland collec tion was taken to aaaist In defraying the expense of the excellent mission ary exhibit which, was displayed In the college chapel for several dayahla week. Thla exhibit was secured by Rev. und Mrs. Brown, missionaries to Japan, and Synod expressed apprecia tion to them.. Appreciation waa ex -nressud also to the American Bible Society for the Urge display of Bibles sent here at thla time ror exnimnon. The minutes of the two sessions of to-day were read and approved, after which the president, Rev. A. O. Volgt, D. P., led in the prescribed form of worship for tbe closing of ffynod, and at 11:45 Synod adjourned alne die. Dr. Volgt pronouncing the benediction.
