The convention waa called order by W. C. Rodman, chairman rf the county executive committee. Mr.- km man, in welcoming tne one gate, sounded the keynote for a glori ous victory of the party In the coun ty campaign. W. U. Heddltt, of Kd vards, was named as temporary and -jtermanent chairman and the follow ing tk-ket was nominated; Represen tatives. W. K. Jacobson and Prank H. Hooker; sheriff, Oeorge E. Kicker; treasurer, Joseph P. Tsyloe; register of deeds, Gilbert Hum ley; clerk of -court. L. It. Mayor: coroner, D. Joshua Taylor: surveyor, Kdwln Tripp; coun ty commissioners. II. G. Jordan, J, H. Williams a whit man U year of age, and ha a wife and three chil dren. Mlsa Carter I a -very pretty girl. II year old and the adopted daughter of N.j E. Andr -of Big Ivy. Mr. Anders, accompanied hr his brother and two other cltlsen of Big Ivy, were her thla. morning on a hunt for William,, and declare that they will camp on hi trail till they catch hlm. Mr. AnUera, to referring to the affair to-day. said that Wil liam had been working for him and lived within a short distance of his homo. He aald that the . elopement was an utter surprise to him; that Williams had never attempted to pay Miss Carter any attention and that ho would have Williams captured if It cot him every cent he had. Then we found that they had been writing to each other and that the whole thing was well planned and executed.
