Charily Worker Was Uefnsed the Use of tlie Amhtilance by the City Physician Mlauiuterstamllng a to the Hum Paid for Vehicle's Use. To the Editor of The Observer: May I aak for a little "pure In your paper on th ambulance ques tion? I read with Interest the full nd eourleou reply by the Messrs. Wadaworth. via: That the mbulance may be used free of charge for char ity patient by getting a permit eith er from the city treasurer, city physi cian or chief of nolle, and the city paying 60 cents for Its us to Messrs. Wsdaworth. The writer has mad 'application to th cHy treasurer, who referred me to the city physician, on application to thla gnntlemtn, I waa refused the use of the ambulance, but was offered th police ipatrol. I linve never applied to the chief of police. There seem to he an under standing between th ally and Meeara. Wadaworth of a charge of 60 eenta, but on account of my not being able to get a permit, within two month I hav had oocaalon to use th m butane twice, and paid 11.00 each time for its use. Evidently there Is mime misunderstanding among th city official as to their authority to permit the us of th ambulance. Would it be In order to publish th resolution or whatever -record thr is of this arrangement, that all may understand the limit to which th ambulance can be uaed tor worthy, charity patients who are too III to b moved In any other way? It la for correct understanding and not argument, that f seek th infor mation through your paper.
